Leaving an agency: a step-by-step checklist
Short answer: before you give notice, check the minimum term, the notice period, the renewal rule and any commission after the end date, and keep your login, account email and 2FA in your own hands. As of October 23, 2026, 7 of the 31 OnlyFans management agencies scored by OF Agency Rankings state all three of minimum term, notice period and renewal; 17 state that there is no minimum term and 6 that they charge no commission after you leave. Lists: agencies that state no minimum term, ranked by published terms · agencies that state no commission after you leave, ranked by published terms.
Ending an agency relationship goes most smoothly when you plan it like a project: read the contract, give notice the way it asks, protect your account on the right day, and settle the money with numbers in hand. This checklist covers each stage. It works whether the parting is friendly or not.
Before you give notice
Reread the contract
Find and note the answers to these questions. Our guide to contract clauses explains where each usually sits.
- Notice: how many days, in what form (written, email), and to which address?
- Minimum term: has it passed? If not, what does leaving early cost?
- Renewal: does the contract renew automatically, and is there a window to give notice before it does?
- Fees on exit: is there an exit fee or early termination charge?
- Commission after the end date: does any continue, for how long and at what rate? See commission after you leave.
- Content: what happens to the agency's copies and any licence you gave it?
- Exclusivity: are there limits on working with another agency after you leave?
Gather your records
- A copy of the signed contract, with all schedules.
- Your platform statements for recent months, and the agency's invoices.
- A list of everyone with access to your account, and every connected tool.
- A list of promotional accounts (social media, link pages, forums) that point to you, and who holds their logins.
- Your own copies of your content.
Work out the dates
Calculate the end date from the notice clause, then add any post-term commission period. That gives you the full time you will keep paying, which matters if you plan to join another agency.
Giving notice
Send notice the way the contract asks, usually in writing and to a specific address. Keep it short and factual. Something like this works:
This is my notice to end our management agreement dated [date], under clause [number]. By my calculation, the agreement ends on [end date]. Please confirm the end date, and send a final statement of commission due, by [date]. Please also confirm how and when you will delete copies of my content, as set out in clause [number].
Keep a copy of what you sent and any reply. Ask for written confirmation of the end date.
During the notice period
The contract is usually still running, so agree on what continues:
- Does the team keep posting and chatting until the end date, or wind down?
- What happens to scheduled posts, automated messages and planned promotions after the end date?
- When will the final statement arrive, and what will it show?
If the contract gives the agency access until the end date, cutting it early can start a dispute. If you believe your account is at risk, protect the account first and get advice afterwards.
On the end date: secure your account
Work through this list in order. Our guide to login and 2FA explains each step.
- Change the password of the account email and check its recovery options.
- Change the account password.
- Log out all other sessions and devices.
- Reset 2FA if anyone else could have a copy, and save new backup codes.
- Remove connected tools and any team or assistant access.
- Check payout details, the phone number and the email on the account.
- Review prices, scheduled posts, automated messages and promotions.
Promotional accounts
Agencies often run social media or other accounts that send fans to you. Check the contract for who owns them. If they are yours, collect the logins and repeat the security steps above. If the agency keeps them, ask that links to your account and any of your content be removed by an agreed date.
Content and data
- Ask the agency to confirm in writing that it has deleted its copies of your content, if the contract says so.
- Check that any licence you gave the agency has ended, or when it ends.
- Ask what happens to notes about fans, chat scripts and other records about your account.
Settling the money
- Compare the final statement with your platform statements, month by month.
- Check that commission uses the base the contract states (gross or net) and only the income types it covers.
- If a post-term commission applies, agree in writing how it will be reported and paid, and when it stops.
- If the numbers do not match, ask for a line-by-line breakdown before you pay.
Your fans
If the team chatted with fans for you, your regulars may notice a change in tone. You do not owe anyone details. A short, friendly message that you are handling your own messages again is usually enough.
If something goes wrong
- Lost access: contact your platform's support from the account email, with your ID ready. Act quickly.
- A disagreement about money or content: keep everything in writing, keep copies, and get legal advice before you sign any settlement.
- Content posted somewhere without your consent: most platforms and hosts have a takedown process for copyright owners.
What OF Agency Rankings checks before you sign
Several of our criteria cover what makes leaving easier, scored only on whether an agency publishes the term, not on what the term is. Under rubric v1.0: Contract length and notice checks the minimum term, notice period and renewal; Payments after you leave checks whether commission continues; Content rights checks ownership and what happens at the end; and Account access checks who holds the keys. Each agency profile shows what we found and the date we checked.
FAQ
Can I leave before the minimum term ends?
It depends on the contract. Some allow it with a fee, some only for cause. Read the termination clause and ask the agency in writing what it would accept.
Do I have to tell the agency why I am leaving?
Usually not. Notice under the contract is enough. A short reason can keep things friendly, but it is your choice.
Can I change my password the day I send notice?
If the contract gives the agency access until the end date, doing so may start a dispute. If you believe your account is at risk, security comes first.
What if the agency does not reply to my notice?
Keep proof that you sent it to the address in the contract. Follow up once in writing, and get advice if the end date passes without a reply.
